All contact begins as a mechanical event.

Before any consideration of anatomy, behaviour or equipment design, we must understand the physical forces at work: 

How are they generated, 

 

How they travel

and where they are concentrated.

This domain forms the foundation of the entire framework.

Biological Interface

Force doesn't act in the abstract - it acts on living tissue.

This domain examines the oral structures that receive contact forces:

Their conformation,

variability and tolerance thresholds.

There is no universal oral conformation and no universal bit fit.

Tolerance is individual, not generic

Neurological Feedback

The Horse cannot report its experience in language.

It communicates through behaviour.

This domain reframes behavioural signals (evasions, resistances, changes in way of going) as data rather than disobedience.

It examines the neurological and behavioural pathways through which the horse responds to contact.

Behaviour is information.

With forces and anatomy understood and considered, this domain examines how specific equipment design choices alter the way forces are directed, distributed, and experienced.

This is analysis of geomatry, materials and mechanics - not a brand comparison.

We examine principles rather than products, applying analytical rigour.
